Did you know that “yield” means “speed up and cut people off, force them into the left hand lane, then don’t let back into the lane they were in so they could make the exit”.

Yup. Learned that from a driver this morning who decided hitting the gas was better than hitting the break at the highway entrance ramp.

I'm just thankful no one was in the left hand lane.

Oh yes. Truckers know this better than anyone. It works the other way too - stay in the right hand lane so people can't move from the on-ramp onto the highway, run out of lane and end up driving on the shoulder.

Typically if there's room for me to get over, and time to get back over before my exit I do ... but my exit was RIGHT THERE.

I'm not saying you have to stop at a yield sign ... but come on ... don't hit your gas!

I love when my day starts with an adrenaline rush like that .... *shakes head*

What really annoyed me is that there was no one behind me for a good distance. Had she waited just a second she could have pulled in behind me like a normal person. Instead she ran me into the other lane then did the speed up/slow down thing when I tried to get back over to exit.

Let's hope that's the last driving incident of the year for me, and that next years better.

I think these people get a sick thrill of nearly causing accidents and possibly people losing their lives. I can't say how often shit like that has been done to me and the asstard in the other car laughed through the window.

People are idiots. I remember stuff like that happening to me when I lived in Olympia..There were freeways there.. I gotta go like 15 miles away to even hit 1 exit onto the highway.. Then it's about another 20 miles after that till you hit another one.

A couple months ago I actually stopped at the yield because there was a car coming in the right hand lane and the car behind me BLASTED his horn at me. Then when I finally moved into the road, the guy behind me passed me and blasted his horn at me again. I learned then that "yield" apparently means to hit the gas and try to beat oncoming traffic.

...and this wasn't even on the highway but here in Moon Township. The guy behind couldn't have been going anywhere that important, LOL - this is why I like to avoid the roads during rush hour. People act like idiots just because they are in a hurry to get home
